Jakarta, April 8, 2026 – CFA Society Indonesia hosted its latest member gathering on Wednesday evening at Seasonal Taste, The Westin Hotel Jakarta, bringing together approximately 50 finance and investment professionals for a dinner and knowledge-sharing session. The evening’s featured presentation introduced brain-focused coaching as a neuroscience-based approach to leadership development, with Lyra Puspa, President and Founder of Vanaya & Companies, serving as the keynote speaker.
The Brain as a Leadership Instrument
“The most powerful asset in leadership is the brain.”
Decision Quality in an Era of Disruption
The main session examined how the brain responds to the pressures of the current business environment. The presentation traced how neural structures associated with habit and routine favor predictability and conserve cognitive energy, and how these same systems are increasingly in tension with an era defined by rapid change, ambiguity, and continuous challenge. When the brain perceives challenge as a threat to control or agency, it defaults to familiar patterns rather than adaptive ones, with direct consequences for decision quality at the leadership level.
The session introduced brain-focused coaching as a structured response to this gap. Grounded in the principles of neuroplasticity and related mechanisms of brain adaptation, the approach targets specific neural systems responsible for attention, emotional regulation, and cognitive flexibility. The central argument presented was that sustainable behavioral change in high-stakes leadership contexts begins from the inside out: shifting how the brain processes its environment, which in turn shapes how a leader acts, judges, and decides.
CFA Brain Scan Experience on the Floor

Alongside the presentation, attendees had access to a dedicated Brain Corner set up within the event space. The exhibit offered participants a hands-on introduction to neurometric assessment, allowing them to experience a live demonstration of how brain-based data can surface patterns in cognitive behavior. The interactive corner served as a practical extension of the evening’s core theme, translating the session’s conceptual content into a tangible, personalized experience.
Expanding the Conversation on Leadership Science
